Treatment of Mandibular Fracture in Children Managed with Acrylic Splint and Circumferential Wiring

Abstract
Fractures of facial bone in children are less frequent than that in adult, but increase gradually. Management of mandibular fracture in children differs from that in adults because of anatomic variation, rapidity of healing, degree of patient
cooperation and the potential for interference with mandibular growth.
Acrylic splint is useful in the treatment of mandibular fractures in children and it is fixed by the ciroumferential wiring. After the delivery of acrylic splint, stabilization of fracture segment, mouth opening and ingestion of soft food is
possible.
Further study of the growth of mandible and the developing tooth germs is necessary.
